Thomas Forster Papers 1799-1834

Thomas Forster (1762-1836) was an Erie, Pennsylvania, agent and stockholder of the Harrisburg and Presque Isle Company, and Collector of Customs for Erie (1799-1836). He owned two mills, was engaged in the salt trade, acted as agent and warehouseman for army contractors, and served as a transport agent for the Indian Factory system. The collection consists of invoices, drafts, bills of lading, statements of account, promissory notes, contracts, depositions, and correspondence.
